The script might help in an argument with a friend who believes the woman did not know she was buying blanks. Any other source anone knows to settle the question, I thank you in advance for it.

I don't think she did Jimi.

Vermont Chick (10 out of 10 )
I think she did know that she was buying blanks. She played the coroner. It just makes sense that she would try to prevent a death since she sees death every day.

That moment struck me the first and only time I saw the film because there was definitely something stressed about the exchange of the bullets. I think his line "You know what these don't you?" The moment is actually pretty genius because I thought she was buying some crazy kind of exploding bullet. What I mean is that I as an audience member didn't know, but SHE did. She knew she was buying blanks because like Vermont Chick says, she doesn't want to see more death and more importantly she doesn't want to see her father get in trouble. Society and family...crash, bang, boom.

The script is absolutely fabulous. This has to be one of the most thought provoking movies. The line which steals the show would definitely be "You think you know who you are? You have no idea."

Are we reading the same script here? You guys are commenting on this like it's the "Crash" that won best picture. This is the old Crash where people got kicks out of doing it in cars and crashing them.

I have been crashed by Crash! What a great movie. A theme, plot , sequence, editing, sound and all that. What a good mixer! I love it very much. Sorry I have to tell you guys one more time that I got Crashed!

She didn't know that they were blanks. And besides, who cares? The best scene in the movie is definitely when he actually shoots the girl. Her father is devastated! It really moved me.

This is an amazing film! Everyone should watch this film because it includes racial tension and lots of racism. This is an important issue in our society. The characters are great and they deserve a happy ending. Most of them are happy in the end. The music is nice and it was great they were nominated for an award! Thandie Newton is very pretty in this.

It was wrong that the officer assaulted the young black women after she had gotten out of the vehicle.

I loved this movie, it was sad, well-written. I enjoyed reading the script. Two thumbs up for this film.

To echo rico, this is the wrong script guys. This script is actually about cars. You're thinking of the Crash with Sandra Bullock and Don Cheadle. This movie isn't it.

John (10 out of 10 )
Did you even look at the script before you commented on it? This is the 1996 movie "Crash", with Holly Hunter about people who are sexually aroused by car crashes. This is not the Oscar winning piece of garbage "Crash", which was so overwrought with message my head hurt from being hit over the head with it. Hey Haggis, ever hear of the word "Subtle"?

Jen (10 out of 10 )
This Crash is not the one everybody keeps talking about, which was WONDERFUL! Sorry, John, you don't know what you're talking about, and if you really think you do, I would challenge you to try and write a movie with as many cool twists and turns as the oscar winning Crash, and submit it online for review. Needless to say, I'd give the Crash with Sandra Bullock a ten out of ten stars. Oh, and by the way, the girl totally knew they were blanks (DUH, it said it on the box!) but even if it hadn't, she didn't want her father to buy the gun in the first place because she didn't want anyone to get hurt...so what would be the best bullets to buy if you're having to take the gun? BLANKS!

You're absolutely right Rico. Some of the commenter's should go back to back to the top of the page and click on "read Crash script" and actually read it. I saw the movie crash featured here and I have to say I wasn't terribly impressed. I loved the "CRASH" that most of us know. I think it is well written and acted and has everything a movie needs to be considered a great movie.

This film is fantastic. I love James Spader as James Ballard. As usual, he gives a thoroughly convincing performance, with great support from Holly Hunter, Deborah Kara Unger and Elias Koteas. The film, as good as it is, still would be, for some, a little strange. But to understand this film, you need to understand David Cronenberg. See his films Dead Ringers, Naked Lunch and A History of Violence. He is a bit out there, but his films are thought provoking and very interesting.

I like how half the people on here are talking about the paul haggis's 2004 Crash. This is the 1996 David Cronenberg film ah tards. If you'd looked at the script you would have realized.
